Air Source Heat Pump is designed to provide efficient heating, cooling and hot water, even in cold weather. It works by moving heat instead of producing it directly, which makes it highly energy-saving. Step-by-Step Working Principle 1.Absorbing Heat from Air The outdoor unit has a special evaporator coil filled with refrigerant. Even in cold temperatures, the refrigerant is colder than outside air, so it absorbs heat energy from the air. 2.Compressor – The Heart of the System The refrigerant gas (low-pressure, low-temperature) is sucked into the compressor. The compressor squeezes the gas, making it high-pressure and high-temperature. This hot gas is now ready to deliver heat. 3.Heat Transfer to Water (Condenser) The hot refrigerant gas flows through the condenser (water heat exchanger). Here, the heat is transferred to water for floor heating, radiators,fcu,ahu or domestic hot water. The refrigerant cools down and turns into a liquid. 4.Expansion Valve – Cooling Down Again The liquid refrigerant passes through the expansion valve, where its pressure and temperature drop. It becomes a cold liquid–gas mixture. 5.Cycle Repeats This cold refrigerant goes back to the evaporator to absorb more heat from the outside air. The cycle continues, keeping your home warm and water hot with maximum efficiency.
